Rebecca Cavendish always hated head-hunters but none were as brazen - or memorable - as Annah Stevens. Two weeks later, six people were dead and someone was trying to make Rebecca the seventh. Can Annah be trusted?

Despite irrational formatting, including the clumsiest structuring of speech/conversation that I have ever seen, spelling typos and the occasional glaring grammatical inaccuracy, this is a very well-written book. Oh, but how I yearn for the day when these ebook semi-self published authors will spend a bit of money on freelance editing! Such a pointless pain-in-the-neck to have to wade through easily fixable errors. Sigh.
There are several treats for discerning readers in this novel. The writing is crisp and well paced, with some intriguing turns of phrase. The dialogue is excellent- the author has a good ear and a quick wit - and with every interaction we learn a little more about the very likeable and enjoyable lead (and secondary) characters (rather than being told, say, as in all those badly written lesfic novels we wish we hadn't bought). The plot keeps one's interest, too - and there is no irritating padding. I'll look for more by this author.

Irrational Numbers E A Gray 9781907130090 Books Reviews

I was a little disappointed with the ending I guess I was waiting for the main characters to finally be together. I hope there is a second book would love to know more about the supporting characters.
What a ride! Brilliant writing and editing, exciting mystery, murder & mayhem, and laugh aloud dialogues made this read a real treat. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because I feel the romance was under-played toward the end, which left me somewhat dissatisfied, yet it's still a story worthy of your time.
I didn't give this book five stars because I'm not the type to give five stars unless it's absolutely freakin' amazing, but this is a pretty darn good book, way better than the price would suggest. Other reviewers have noted formatting issues, which I didn't notice, and any "cheap" book that has complete sentences and proper spelling and grammar more often than not will get two stars just for not sucking the fun out of reading it. This is an extremely well-written, engrossing book. I felt like the characters were well drawn and therefore I could care about them. My advice to the author is to keep writing, and next time don't sell yourself so cheap. You're worth much more than 99 cents!
This was in no way a typical les fic. Lots of hidden twists and turns, so predictable it was not, which made it all the more intriguing. I decided to buy it off of a review from someone who suggested I give it chance in spite of some other crappy reviews. I have to say I'm very glad I did. This is not fluff, it is an actual story with plot where the attraction builds. The pacing worked. I don't want to describe too much so it unfolds for you. If you want a book that fits the usual formula and would disappointed it doesn't, than this book is not for you. However if you like to take chances, then I believe you will enjoy the ride.
The storyline was quite original. Descriptive narrative of London and Las Vegas was very good. The characters and plot were convincing and a real page turner toward the conclusion. The novel is rated 4-star because some of the explanation for certain events were a little murky but otherwise engaging. Even if Ms. Gray considers a sequel, it is absolutely not necessary. The story ends as it begins and the rest is left to the imagination of the reader. While the formatting was poor, this reviewer in no way has used that in consideration of the review.
E.A Gray is a new author for me.Her book "Irrational Numbers" was a freeby for owners.
Quite a find.
I liked this book so much I ordered her other book "Heaven's Hell" I even paid the $1.50 to actually buy instead of borrowing it.
This is my favorite sort of author. She's intelligent, articulate, humorous and compassionate and thus her characters,Rebecca and Annah are a joy to follow along on this tale.
The story centers around two women who are "innocently" caught up in a bloody massacre, then accused of doing the killing.
How they get themselves into and around trouble is just plain fun to read.Of course there's attraction between these ladies,It's slow and careful .Nothing is rushed with these two.
As I said before this author is new to me so I don't know if she does sequels but I'd love to hear more about Rebecca and Annah.
Thanks,Pat
I almost didn't buy this, after reading the sample, because the beginning features Rebecca, a wealthy, beautiful (Is there any other kind?) businesswoman, who is going through a messy divorce from a cheating husband. There is nothing in the sample to give any indication the story will be suspenseful, nor any indication there will be any romance between two women. But, because of a few reviews and the cheap piece of 99 cents, I thought, why not.

The author does a great job in establishing her characters, including minor ones, and the dialogue is hilarious in spots. But, if you're looking for a true romance, this isn't it. Yes, there is a strong attraction between Rebecca and Annah. And, their attraction and the sexual tension is convincingly done, but the author fades to black at the end, and left this reader dissatisfied.

Also, there are some big plot holes in the mystery, more a story of international intrigue, that don't add up in the rushed ending. Too many revolve around Annah and her supposed role towards Rebecca. All in all, an enjoyable story, with some suspense and romantic overtures, so I'd give it three and one half stars.
